Maceo Parker - Funkoverload (1998)

El saxofonista, Maceo Parker, se dio a conocer en la formación de James Brown, en la que coincidió en la sección de vientos con el también saxofonista, Pee Wee Ellis y el trombonista, Fred Wesley -conocidos con el sobrenombre de los "J.B.'s Horns" -, con los que, al margen del cantante, James Brown, crearía diversos grupos, como el "Maceo & All The King's Men", y participaría en diversas formaciones lideradas por George Clinton.

Desde principios de la década de los noventa y junto a Ellis y Wesley, o en solitario, o bien con invitados de prestigio como la "Rebirth Brass Band" - Maceo Parker, ha emprendido una exitosa carrera en la que su personal formula de, según él, "un 2% de jazz y un 98% de funk", le está proporcionando excelentes resultados. Su sonido al saxo - que recuerda a la mejor tradición de King Curtis - enriquecido con su propia personalidad y aunado a la complicidad que comparte con Ellis, y Fred Wesley, les ha llevado a constituir una de las secciones de viento mas emblemáticas del soul jazz, terreno en el que cada uno de ellos ha dado abundantes muestras en los últimos años de una altísima creatividad y de una fascinante habilidad para combinar tradición y modernidad.

El grupo sueco Looptroop Rockers nos presenta su sonido único, estilo propio y característico además de una muy particular imagen visual con nuevo material discográfico titulado “Good Things”. Este disco está a la venta desde el pasado 23 de abril.

Estos artistas rompieron los esquemas he hicieron conocer a Suecia musicalmente, Dj Embee, Promoe y Supreme son los responsables del éxito y de la magia de Looptroop Rockers.

Este grupo tiene un largo camino recorrido, han formado su extensa trayectoria editando trabajos como Superstars en el año 93, Threesicksteez en el 95, Punk Not Dead en el 98, Modern Day City Symphony (2000),The Struggle Continues (2002) y Fort Europa en el año 2005 entre otros.
