Aaron phillip,es el verdadero numbre de este mc, oriundo de nueva york , es un devoto estudiante de artesmarciales. entro en la escena hip hop gracias a gangstarr fundation, junto con mc's como jeru the damaja, Big Shug y Group Home. Su primera aparición fue en el álbum clásico de Jeru The Damaja de 1994 titulado The Sun Rises in the East, en la canción "Mental Stamina". Apareció de nuevo en el segundo álbum de Jeru, Wrath of the Math, (el cual tambien boy a postear debido a esta seccion de clasicos de gangstarr fundation) en "Physical Stamina", en 1996. El single debut de Afu-Ra, "Whirlwind Thru Cities", fue lanzado en 1998, alcanzando el Top 20 en la lista hot rap singles de billboard. En 1999 lanzó otro single, "Defeat b/w Mortal Kombat". Su anticipado álbum debut, Body of the Life Force, vió la luz en octubre del 2000. Tony Cottrell A.k.a Hi-Tek, es un Dj, Productor & Mc de Hip-Hop, oriundo de Cincinnati, Ohio, U.s.a. Fue Miembro del mitico sello Rawkus (ya desaparecido) actualmente esta en Babygrande Records. Ha trabajado con gente de la talla de; Dr. Dre, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, Vinia Mojica, Buckshot, Method Man, J Dilla, Busta Rhymes, Nas, Q-Tip, Etc.

Tras unirse a las filas de Dr. Dre y como consecuencia del equipo de producción, sale en 2006 'Hi-Teknology 2: The Chip', su 2do disco en solitario, su música en este album es precisa, con un buen efecto secundario que significa que el sonido sea espectacular, ademas de tener un montón de invitados de lujo. Black Violin, Grupo de Hip-Hop, conformado por Kev Marcus, Wil B & Dj Tk, oriundos de Miramar, Florida, U.s.a. El nombre del grupo, deriva de la influencia de un famoso violinista de jazz, Stuff Smith, que les cambio su perspectiva de lo que el violín es capaz de hacer, seis meses antes del fallecimiento de Smith, este grabó su ultimo álbum en solitario titulado 'Black Violin'.
